Varsity Girls torch the Olympians

The RA Varsity Girls avenged an opening season loss by returning the favor and notching a 38-31 victory over the Oxbow Olympians last night before a packed house. Both teams played an aggressive, defensive minded game and points were difficult to come by at each end of the court. Both teams had a combined 22 field goals for the night. Deva Steketee led Rivendell with 10 points. Coach Wilcox remarked that it was "the most defensively intense game that I've ever been part of..." The win was the fifth in a row for the girls and the last two have been against tough DIII opponents. Their next game is Saturday at Thetford. The JV game is scheduled for a 5pm start with the Varsity game to follow.
