boys games postponed tonight
The jv and varsity Boys games vs. Thetford have been postponed this evening and have been rescheduled for tomorrow, thursday the 29th. JV @ 5:30 with the varsity to follow. Reminder that the Green Mtn. games begin at 5:00pm on Friday. Jv Boys followed by the varsity Boys.

Varsity teams split with Arlington
The Boys and Girls travelled to Arlington on Saturday and returned home with a split decision. In the opener, the Boys lost a tough, hard fought game 63-56. The Girls were involved in a back and forth affair throughout their game and won at the buzzer 28-27. The Boys next game is Monday at South Royalton. The Girls are off until Thursday when they also travel to South Royalton.

Varsity Boys win second in a row
The Varsity Boys played host to the Chargers from Craftsbury and came away with a convincing 65-14 victory. Leading the way for the Raptors was Billy Ross with 11 points followed by Cody Thurston's 10 and Dylan Pelletier's 9. The team's intensity picked up in the middle stanzas as they outscored their opponent by a 44-8 margin. Coach Colby was pleased with the overall effort on both ends of the court. Every member of the team scored. The boys next game is a makeup with Lake Region on Monday the 19th. The JV's kick off the action at 5:30 followed by the Varsity at 7:00.

The Varsity Boys played host to Craftsbury on Friday evening and secured their second consecutive win with a convincing 65-14 effort. Leading the scoring for the Raptors was Billy Ross with 11 points followed by Cody Thurston's 10 and Dylan Pelletier's 9 point efforts. The team's intensity escalated in the middle quarters as they outscored their opponent 44-8. Coach Colby was pleased by the overall effort on both ends of the court as they played aggressive defense and all members of the team scored. The next game for the boys is a makeup game with Lake Region at home on Monday the 19th. The JV's will kick off the action at 5:30 followed by the Varsity.

Varsity Girls torch the Olympians
The RA Varsity Girls avenged an opening season loss by returning the favor and notching a 38-31 victory over the Oxbow Olympians last night before a packed house. Both teams played an aggressive, defensive minded game and points were difficult to come by at each end of the court. Both teams had a combined 22 field goals for the night. Deva Steketee led Rivendell with 10 points. Coach Wilcox remarked that it was "the most defensively intense game that I've ever been part of..." The win was the fifth in a row for the girls and the last two have been against tough DIII opponents. Their next game is Saturday at Thetford. The JV game is scheduled for a 5pm start with the Varsity game to follow.

Varsity Boys earn a win vs Chelsea
Will Tifft (12 points) and Daniel Gray (11 points) paced the Varsity boys to a 49-43 win over the visiting Red Devils last evening. The boys worked well together as eight members of the team contributed to the scoring column. The lead was just two points at the half and remained close throughout the third and fourth quarters. Three pointers by Shane Kilduff and Daniel Gray helped seal the victory. The Boys host Craftsbury at 5:30pm on Friday.

MS teams take 2 out of 3 from Haverhill
The 7th grade Girls and the 7/8 grade boys had convincing wins vs. Haverhill on Monday. Good defense and unselfish ball movement on the offensive half of the court were evident in both of the games. The 8th grade girls played well but were defeated by their opponents in a hard fought battle. All three teams host hanover on Thursday with the 8th grade girls playing first at 4:30 followed by the boys and the 7th grade girls teams.
JV teams take two from Whitcomb
On Monday evening the JV Girls and Boys played host to the teams from Whitcomb and both teams experienced satisfying wins. Good team play accounted for the success that each of the teams enjoyed. The girls play next on Wednesday, and the boys are off until Monday the 19th vs. lake region.
Girl and Boys Varsity split vs Twin VAlley
Our Girls and Boys Varsity teams played host to Twin Valley on Saturday the 10th. The Boys opened up play at 1:00pm and played very well against one of the stronger teams in Division III. Going into the the locker room at half time locked at 27-27, they had difficulty adjusting to the press and fell behind in the 3rd quarter. The eventual outcome resulted in a 67-51 loss. Billy Ross lead the way with 16 points. The Varsity Boys host Chelsea on Tuesday at 5:30pm.

RA girls overwhelm Blue Mountain
The RA Varsity and JV girls hosted Blue Mountain on Thursday and both teams came away with convincing victories. The JV's coasted to a 49-12 win as everyone contributed to the game's outcome. Kathleen McCarty scored a career best 18 points to lead the varsity to a 54-19 win. Fifteen of her points were from three point land. The team played tenacious defense, particularly in the first half as they limited the Bucks to seven points. Eight members of the team contributed to the point total as they ran their season record to 4-2. The Varsity girls host Twin Valley tomorrow at 1:00pm with the Varsity boys following at approximately 2:30pm

boys vs craftsbury postponed
Tonight's varsity boys game vs Craftsbury has been postponed until Thursday , January 22nd at 6pm. The Lake Region game which was postponed on December 11th has been rescheduled for Monday, January 19th. JV boys at 5:30pm with Varsity to follow.
